Trust in Christ’s sufferings

The spirituality of the divine nature of God is a good reason for the spirituality of a divine worship. For this purpose, God’s people all over the world congregated on this blessed Sunday to worship the Most High God through the ministry The Word is Spirit and Life. It was a beautiful day in the presence of His Majesty as the evangelists led the opening prayer with thanksgiving and pleading for God’s mercy and forgiveness to which we were heard as its says in 1 John 1:9 that “if we confess our sins, [Jesus Christ] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.

Following the opening prayers, the church was led into a moment of worship where hands were lifted up and voices rose in harmony praising His Holy Name.

Trust in Christ’s sufferings

To introduce his sermon, the Man of God Apostle Éloge took two readings from the scriptures. The first Matthew 6:25-31, the second Isaiah 53:4-5. From these scriptures, the Man of God said our worries will not bring solutions to our problems. We need to rely on the Father for He provides for all and will provide for us. Whatever pain you may be going through, Jesus Christ bore those pains too and through that He purchased healing for us. The punishment we deserved for our sins fell on Christ Jesus and His death did not only bring us salvation but also healing, deliverance and all of God’s blessings.

Worrying about your present condition will not bring solution to that problem, therefore look unto Jesus Christ who bore the chastisement that brought you peace, look unto Jesus who bore the affliction that brought you healing, look unto Jesus who bore the affliction that brought you blessings. Many today worry too much about their present condition but never rely on the promises of God. Apostle Éloge said “Trusting in Christ’s sufferings will bring peace to our inner being”. He added that If you know that what you are looking for has already been provided by Christ Jesus and it is only a matter of time before it materializes that will bring peace to your spirit.

If your heart is burdened by your immediate needs, your mind and focus will only be on how to get those needs. This is dangerous because when we are in a hurry to get something we would not mind the source of that blessing whether from God or satan we will take it. The Man of God said whatever satan gives you with his right hand, he takes with his left hand what your life depends on. For this reason, we should always trust in Christ’s sufferings because it will bring peace to us. Failing to trust in Christ’s sufferings will cause our heart to be always burdened.

Reading Isaiah 53:4 “surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrow …” the Man of God said that there’s no sorrow or pain we are going through that Jesus Christ did not experience. He said we are not worshipping a man-made god or a wooden statue, God came in the flesh and went through pains, so when Jesus says He understands the pain that you are going though, He truly understands because He also went through pain. Are you going through body pains? the Bible says “… he was pierced…”. Are you going through disappointment? Jesus Christ faced disappointment in his disciples when they could not keep watch. Is it betrayal that you are going through? Jesus Christ was betrayed by His own disciple, not an outsider but someone who walked with Him from the beginning and throughout the 3 years of His mission. What are you going through? Apostle Éloge said we serve a God that understands and knows our needs.

Do not let your present conditions keep you in a state of worry. Jesus said in John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” Jesus Christ has overcome the world for us, so trust in Him for He has a way out for you. Being worried about your present condition is a trap of satan to keep your mind off of that which is important. The Man of God said if you are only focused on making money, a large slice of life will pass you by.

Ministration of prayer

The spirit of the Lord led Apostle Éloge into the ministration of prayer for His people. The Man of God began with the ZOOM Prayerline. He called unto the people as He was led by the Spirit of God. Those who were in the hall also received a divine touch from God. The man of God also stretched his hand towards the camera to pray for those watching through YouTube live.

The power of the Holy Ghost!
Leading the congregation into the mass prayer, the Man of God told the congregants to ask for the power of the Holy Ghost to locate them in the name of Jesus Christ.

Join us again next Sunday whether on-site or on-line via ZOOM or YouTube Live.
